Existing foundations often present both opportunities and constraints when undertaking redevelopment, extension or load increase projects. We assess the capacity and condition of foundations, then design and install supplementary piles or strengthening measures to work in harmony with the original structure. Our restricted access mini piling rigs — including the Super Kitten and Klemm range — can operate within basements, beneath low headroom and through narrow openings to install piles without disrupting the existing building fabric.
This approach is frequently used for residential basement conversions, commercial refurbishments and extensions where the existing foundations are insufficient for increased loading but demolition is not an option. By integrating new piles with existing foundations, we deliver cost-effective solutions that minimise disruption and preserve the structure above.

We have extensive experience working within historically sensitive and listed structures, where vibration control, minimal invasive techniques and meticulous attention to detail are paramount. Our piling methods — including Pali Radice, bored temporary cased and mini piling techniques — enable us to strengthen and underpin heritage foundations without compromising the original fabric. Every scheme is developed with our in-house design team in close collaboration with conservation engineers and heritage consultants.

We provide specialist piling and geostructural solutions for major infrastructure projects including highways, railways, waterways and data networks. Our rigs and techniques are selected to work within the stringent safety and operational constraints of live infrastructure environments, including rail possessions, highway lane closures and operational data centres. We have a proven track record of delivering piling works to precise specifications under critical path programme pressures.

Our skilled operatives can manoeuvre our mini rigs to install piles to very tight tolerances (less than 500mm from the face of existing walls) to maximise available floorspace within a basement.

Originating in Italy, this method of piling has been used successfully for remediating, undermining and enhancing existing foundations. Using a combination of coring and rotary techniques, we can install mini piles through foundations and various ground conditions. Our in-house design team collaborates with engineers to optimise solutions.
Within the retrofit market, we have used this technique to increase the load capacity of existing foundations without the need for heavy invasive ground works.
This technique is also used to modernise historical and listed structures safeguarding their future use.

Utilising our rigs from 2 tonne upwards, we have successfully installed both contiguous and secant piled walls in confined or restricted sites.

This modified technique is for installing CFA piles within restricted headroom. We can use a combination of grout and/or concrete to install traditional CFA-type piles in non-cohesive soils.

We design and install piling solutions to stabilise slopes and embankments where ground movement or failure poses a risk to adjacent infrastructure, buildings or highways. Our restricted access rigs can operate on inclines and constrained margins, installing soil nails, anchor piles and retaining systems to arrest movement and restore ground integrity. We work closely with geotechnical engineers to develop monitoring-led approaches that allow safe, staged construction.
